Larry King to Host Freak Show

By Eric Zanzucchi (@ericzanzucchi)

I kid. I kid. Larry King isn’t going to host a freak show, but rather a third party presidential debate. Although, I haven’t seen pictures of any of the third party candidates, so maybe it will be a freak show. The debate will include Gary Johnson (Libertarian), Jill Stein (Green), Virgil Goode (Constitution), and Rocky Anderson (Justice).

It’s going to be held on Tuesday, the day after the last presidential debate which is really smart timing. Romney and Obama acting like douchebags on national television will be fresh in our minds. I’ve watched both presidential debates and the vice presidential debate. (I will watch the last presidential debate.) All three have been farcical. The candidates are hellbent on making false promises and catching each other in lies. Winners and losers are being declared solely based on who is the better liar and yeller.

The third party debate has the potential to be a lot more productive of a discussion. Since the candidates aren’t genuinely competing for the presidency they can have a thought provoking discussion without the fear of telling the truth and facing backlash.

The debate will take place on King’s online show, Larry King Now.
